Wales Environment Research Hub (WERH)

WERH Events

A key role of the Wales Environment Research Hub is to promote and deliver workshops, seminars and conferences to bring those working in environmental science research in Wales together with key policy and decision-makers across government and its agencies with the aim to:

  • increase awareness among policy-makers and environmental researchers of the key environmental problems facing Wales

  • achieve greater understanding within the environmental science provider and user communities of the kinds, scope and capacity of environmental research that is taking place in Wales

  • improve communication, information and data-sharing between environmental scientists and the end-user community in Wales

  • achieve clearer understanding among scientists of the policy issues that will require answers from the environmental research community, to provide a strong evidence base for local and national decision-making in the future

  • disseminate knowledge on the range of funding opportunities available to support environmental science research in Wales

  • enhance the capability for concerted action on environmental challenges in Wales.
